Jessica Ellen Cornish (also known as Jessie J) is an English musician and singer. Her unique style of music, which combines soul vocals electronic pop, pop, and hip-hop has earned her not just fame but also recognition from a young age. She has also earned several nominations and awards such as the 2011 'Critics' Choice Brit Awards', and "BBC's Sound of 2011.' Her professional career started at the beginning of her 11th year when she was featured in 'Whistle Down the Wind,' one of the musicals written created by English composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. Her next step was joining the National Youth Music Theater and performed in their 2002 production The Late Sleepers'. The album she released her debut "Who You Are" was made available in February, 2011. She became famous that year. In the UK all by itself the album was sold at 105,000 units, while in the US it sold 34,000. It also debuted at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart' and as number 11 on American Billboard 200.' Jessie is also known for her charity work and is involved in charities such as 'Children in Need' and 'Comic Relief.'
